18th c. French Louis XV Buffet a Deux Corps or Cabinet
A large 18th c. French Louis XVbuffet à deux corps made from thick planks of solid walnut. Excellent craftsmanship and grand in scale at 10 feet tall, the provenance of this buffet is a chateau in St. Remy de Provence. The top has a chapeau de gendarme crown above a beautifully hand carved ribbon and wedding basket and opens to three newer shelves made of pine. The bottom opens to one shelf and has an elaborately carved apron and large snail toes. Working locks with one key for both doors. All original. Waxed patina.
