19th Century French Vaisselier or China Hutch
A 19th century Louis XV style Country French vaisselier, or hutch, from Normandy made of solid oak with beautiful hand carvings. The plate rack has three shelves with railings of turned wood spindles. The buffet has beautifully hand-carved floral decoration and opens to one interior shelf and two dovetailed drawers for silver. The apron has a carved center medallion or a bird with and olive branch. Original polished brass hardware with working lock and one key. In two parts, the plate rack rest on top of the buffet. Restoration on the feet of the plate rack. Some of the turned spindle were replaced over time. Waxed patina. The shelves are 14.5"-11" apart and 4"D, perfect for displaying a large collection of plates and platters. Circa 1850-1860.
