An 18th c. French Régence giltwood mirror from Provence. Beautiful carved details with grapevines entwined along the left and right sides, a pair of flower blossoms at the bottom center and a large fruit basket rendered in high relief on the elongated crest. Nice patina with dark gilt finish and ochre painted sides. Pine frame. Mirror shows signs of old silvering. All original. In excellent condition for its age with all the carved details intact. This style of small mirror from Provence was typically given as a wedding gift. Circa 1760-1780. 42"h x 21"w x 2.25"d
