A 19th century French adjustable height desk, or architect's table by award winning inventor A. Féret. Made of solid walnut with book matched veneers of walnut. Turned columns on all four corners and finished on all sides with raised panels. This desk is designed to be raised for use as a standing desk, the top held in place with a locking mechanism, allowing for an adjustable height of 30-44.5 inches. The writing surface has and an inclining center board. Nine dovetailed drawers with brass knob handles. Locks are present, but there are no keys. Oak as a secondary wood. Metal maker's plaque on the side. Circa 1880-1900.
