18th Century French Louis XIV Marquetry Commode

An 18th century French Louis XIV style commode from Grenoble with fine marquetry inlay of cherry, walnut and mahogany. Three dovetailed drawers with slightly serpentine front. Top has rounded front corners and a rosebud inlaid in the center. Exceptional craftsmanship by a highly skilled cabinetmaker. Cast bronze hardware is of the period but not original to this commode and the locks are missing. Retaining a nice French polish finish. Pine as secondary wood. Normal wear and minor shrinkage. Circa 1740-1760.
